World book day cookies, part two

Sorry about the delay, I have been crazy busy recently, I am seriously thinking about hiring a PA...I just need to find someone who is prepared to be paid in cake!
This is the second part of my world book day cookies. The first post is here.

Eldest kidlet's class have been reading the first Harry Potter book together. she tried, valiantly, to get me to paint the characters, especially Hagrid, but I knew I wouldn't have time. So I popped over to Wikipedia and found a list of spells used in the Harry Potter series, a sprinkling of glitter (of course) and abracadabra, a set of cookies!

My week in Instagram

Hello! Well it's been quite the week, and I'm still playing catch up I'm afraid.
I haven't been making many cakes recently although I have made some dummies for a few fabulous photo-shoots that I can't wait to share with you..but not yet. So I thought I would piece together my week for you by looking through my Instagram feed.
I ahve been making hideous ashtray cakes (for a hen party) Mayan cookies (I made a mold and was very proud of myself!)
Last Thursday I flew to Madrid for my first stint of international teaching. I was so fortunate to be working at Alma's cupcake school, she is adorable, as were all the students.
Then late home on Sunday to a lovely banner.
Finally I was involved in Tate and Lyles Tasting House, putting it all together with a cast of thousands and then demonstrating my painting technique.
Phew! Tomorrow I'm back to Peggy Porschens Academy for a wedding favour course, and then straight into wedding season.
I'm stocking up on vitamins and red bull!

World book day cookies (part one)

I asked my littlest kidlet's teacher if there were any particular books they had been reading this term and learnt that they were studying traditional tales. So I came up with some designs to fulfill the brief. It's a large class with thirty kids and mostly boys, but I got through it!

I hope that you enjoyed World book day and didn't find the costume requirements too stressful!
(the second class load to come soon)

Cake inspiration

I have been spending some time on Pinterest recently trying to find inspiration. I have some wedding fairs coming up and I want to make some fabulous dummies. So I thought I would share a few of the fabulous cakes I have found. They may not seem like the perfect inspiration for someone who specialises in painting on cakes, but I am always looking for a different angle.
You can find the credits for each cake under the picture and you can follow my cake Pinterest board here.
